Extra Emergency Buses: Raritan Valley Line Derailment

Unfortunately, this morning, a Conrail freight train derailed near Union Station leading to the suspension of NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Line services between Cranford and Newark Penn Station. Thankfully nobody was injured.
Joe covered the story this morning via Boxcar messaging and social media which you can view HERE.
In response to this disruption, Boxcar has added emergency buses to the Raritan Rocket line tonight and tomorrow morning’s commutes. This line services Westfield, Cranford, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, and Garwood.
New buses include:
- 5:05 PM (NJ bound)
- 5:40 AM (NYC bound)
- 8:00 AM (NYC bound)
Our evening buses have already started to sell out so we recommend reserving your seat ASAP which you can do in the app or through THIS LINK. This evening’s (2/18/25) bus capacity is seen below:

Hopefully, the derailment will be removed by tomorrow morning's commute. However, we will still have new 5:40 AM and 8:00 AM Raritan Rocket buses running just in case. Below is the current Raritan Rocket bus capacity is seen below:
