Boxcar's Ridgeliner Service Starts Sept 13!
Starting Monday September 13th, Boxcar will be bringing our luxury commute to Berkeley Heights, New Providence, and Summit! The Ridgeliner will depart (Monday - Thursday):
—5:55 am: Berkeley Heights Train Station
—6:05 am: New Providence Train Station (Springfield Ave & Pittsford Way)
—6:15 am: Summit (Broad St between Maple & Elm).
After the stop in Summit, the bus will head directly to Midtown, making stops at 42 & 8, 42 &6, 43 & Madison, 47 & Madison, 52 & Madison, 57 & Madison, 67 & Madison, and 71 & Madison. These stops help many of our riders avoid not only Penn Station or Port Authority, but also a subway ride.
We’ll also be offering evening return service, with a departure from 6th Ave just south of 43rd at 5:30 pm.
So, what sets a Boxcar ride apart from other commuting options? We are focused on taking the stress out of your commute, every day. All of our routes offer reserved seating – book your ticket ahead of time through the Boxcar app, and you know you’ll have a seat waiting for you! The Ridgeliner, like all Boxcar buses, includes free WiFi and power outlets at each reclining seat, to make your drive time productive and comfortable. You’ll also see the same professional drivers every day – their focus is getting you to work quickly, safely, and conveniently.
As we're still navigating the post-COVID commuting world, our bus capacity is capped at 2/3 in order to give everyone a little more elbow room, and our partner bus companies are providing extra cleaning on all of our vehicles. We’re also following all federal mask mandates for public transportation.
Tickets can be purchased and displayed through the Box car app, which you can download for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Each ticket costs $19.99, or as low as $14.99 with a monthly Boxcar Commuter membership.
I hope you’ll give Boxcar’s Ridgeliner a try! If you have any questions, please email support@boxcar.com or call 908-485-7275 – we are always happy to help!
