Boxcar's Bus Expansion!
This summer, like the 18 months before it, has been a bit of a roller coaster ride. From vaccines to variants, masks to meltdowns, it seems like the only thing we can count on is that everything is constantly changing.
While many things are still in a state of flux, it’s wonderful to see more people heading back to work as the summer wraps up. At Boxcar, we’ve spent the summer planning for a great fall commute, and I’m thrilled to be able to announce some big additions today.
Our Raritan Rocket line is expanding - starting Tuesday, September 7, this bus will originate in Fanwood at 6:10 am, before stopping in Westfield and Cranford. We're thrilled to open up Boxcar commuting to a whole new town!
For riders in Convent Station, Madison, and Chatham, we'll also be adding Friday bus service on our 6:15 am and 5:20 pm departures, starting Friday, September 10!
We’ll be keeping our COVID protocols in place for now, as well – our bus capacity is capped at 2/3 in order to give everyone a little more elbow room, and our partner bus companies are providing extra cleaning on all of our vehicles. We’re also following all federal mask mandates for public transportation.
I’m thrilled that Boxcar has been able to expand our bus service – nothing makes our team happier than being able to provide a comfortable, convenient commute for even more New Jersey residents. If you are commuting from one of our towns, I hope you’ll give Boxcar a try. If you know anyone in the towns where we are starting service, I hope you’ll let them know, as well.
