Boxcar's New Uber Partnership
Boxcar’s goal is to make your commute as effortless as possible, and we have some exciting news about one new way we support that!
Beginning May 1st, if you ever need a ride with Uber from midtown back to your origin point, and it's outside of our evening bus operating hours, Boxcar will help defray the costs for our members - up to $15 per month.
This partnership between Uber and Boxcar is an important step in allowing Boxcar to serve our members even better.
We understand that sometimes you have to work late, or grab drinks or dinner with colleagues, and you may miss Boxcar’s last bus to New Jersey. When this happens, simply request a ride with Uber and use your $5 Uber Voucher towards your ride.
Here's how it works: Boxcar members will receive three $5 Uber Vouchers at the beginning of the month, each good towards a trip with Uber. The vouchers expire at the end of the month, so make sure to use them. Don't worry....To become a Boxcar member join here or in the left-hand menu of the app. You must be a Boxcar member to receive this voucher.
It's very easy to know whether the voucher will apply to your ride. Just put the pick-up and drop off into the Uber app, and if it's within the right time and geographic area you will see the $5 applied to the cost of your trip.
Additionally, in the event we don't live up to our standard - the bus leaves early or doesn't pick you up for some reason in the evening, we've got you covered with a fully-paid-for Uber trip home. We will handle the admin and you just click on your voucher and book your ride and Boxcar will cover the cost.
Small print: Each $5 voucher is good towards a single trip and vouchers cannot be combined on a single trip. The service area for these vouchers can be viewed here.
