Boxcar Heads to Livingston-West Orange!
A few weeks ago, our friends at OurBus contacted Boxcar with news of a difficult decision they had reached. Due to their focus on inter-city bus routes, the company would be unable to maintain their Livingston/West Orange commuter routes beginning July 30th. Over the past two weeks we have had a chance to analyze the ridership on these lines and meet many of the frequent riders. We observed that, similar to Boxcar's bus routes, OurBus has developed a community of dedicated riders who were very interested to keeping the route alive.
Boxcar has agreed to assume a portion of this route to maintain service continuity, and will initiate service on this beginning July 30. We will maintain OurBus' previous provider, driver, and route unchanged for a two week trial period.

A Boxcar representative will be onboard all three of tomorrow's (Thursday, July 26th) OurBus morning Livingston legs to distribute material and answer any additional questions you may have.
In order to make this a sustainable business proposition, Boxcar needs to raise ticket prices in line with costs. Starting Monday, tickets will cost $11.99, and can be purchased through the Boxcar app - download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play. There will be no ticket multi-packs sold during this two week trial.
As with our routes in Madison, Chatham, Westfield and Cranford, the bus will include WiFi, power outlets, air conditioning and bathrooms. If you have any questions about the new Livingston-West Orange route, please email support@boxcarapp.com.
